Bright/Fun outfit for a funeral

Grandmothers church funeral (late June or early July tbc) she has asked for bright/fun colours. No black. Typical as I have loads of fecking black…..

Needs to be something I would wear again, this will be a very small funeral (probably no more than 20) as my lovely and amazing Grandma died at 98 with very little family or friends left. Just her daughters and offspring and some carers to attend. We will be going for a smart family meal afterwards rather than the usual buffet type wake.

I am 47, 5ft 4, 14 apple with perimenopausal tummy. 34DD/32E boobs. Too tall for petite ranges, too short for everything else. Short sleeved not sleeveless. No pastels or white, would prefer some form of print rather than plain.

Dress or trousers and top. Preferably under £100 but some wriggle room. Doesn’t need to be hugely formal but appropriate for church and meal.

Suggestions??

My first thought was a bright blazer type jacket to go over an outfit you already own.

I mainly own Jeans, with a few dresses for the office but they are all black or mostly black/navy.

I have a few bright tops but wear them with black trousers. But it’s likely to be warm (New Forest) and with hot flushes I need to be on the cool side 🥵 so a blazer probably too much.

Sainsburys have some lovely midi/ maxi dresses, I saw prints and block colours ( reds, greens) when I shopped in store yesterday....reasonably priced too.

Have a look at the brands and styles you love and wear. Then search Vinted.

Amazing bargains especially in smarter wear.

Remember you can always have a bargain taken up.

Could you wear one of your bright tops and buy some navy trousers and then add some bright accessories?

Bright top, dark trousers, bright shoes/accessories

So sorry for your loss. Lovely she wanted you to wear bright clothes.
I can’t stop buying bright stuff from https://scampanddude.com - just bought a pink and blue skirt which looks nice with a black top. It’s not particularly cheap but sizes tend to be generous and accommodating for my mid 40s waistline.

what’s your best fitting dress and where’s it from? This might help get an idea of shapes. As the proud owner of a tum I know some fits of dresses are just an automatic no.

Sorry about your gran, also

Hi OP,
Sorry for your loss.
I looked up floral dresses. Perhaps this dress is not suitable with a dark base but I quite liked the mix of a traditional darker colour with the hope/energy leaping out. Perhaps with a jacket in pink?

I think floral might be a good search term to find dresses that hit the bright criteria but are also formal enough for the occasion.
