ive always tanned amazingly for a ginger.
last year my mum had skin cancer removed from her face so I am now trying to embrace my disgusting pale skin that comes part of the package of being ginger! I want to order lots of bikinis and outfits for my up coming holiday and tips for colours that won't dull my paleness even more would be highly appreciated! skimpy bikinis welcome as also lost 4 stone and had my boobs lifted 😂

Maybe rein in the self hatred for a start. I have red hair and regard myself as utterly beautiful.

I wear jewel colours. Currently a sumptuous teal number. HTH.

OP, am not jel! Am a pale ginger and I only tan with the help of St Tropez ! Good that you’re not going down the tanning route and well done on the weight loss and having ‘new’boobs. My Mum used to get skin cancers as she had the same skin. You could always slap the fake tan on. There are some brilliant ones. I love deep turquoise and teal - they seem to really work with ginger colouring. Happy shopping- TK Maxx always worth a browse at this time of year but bit of a jumble sale and you have to have stamina! Not sure what you wanted price wise but nice to have the opportunity to go shopping

Pale blue shows off a tan really well. I am very pale and paint my nails pale blue and it looks like I have tan hands.

Shufflebumnessie · 12/06/2025 17:10

I remember reading that turquoise shades suit all skin tones and were the most flattering colours for swim wear.
With your hair colour I'd imagine a deep emerald green or teal would look great.

OverlyFragrant · 12/06/2025 17:12

An azure blue would look fantastic I'm sure

Teal, cobalt blue, coral pink, turquoise - bright, clear tones should all look good. You are lucky. I just go from pasty to lobster in a ridiculously short time.

Daisyvodka · 12/06/2025 17:21

Boux Avenue and Pour moi and agree with jewel tones but its hard to get it right, I think cobalt blue is too strong for example.

Mercurial123 · 12/06/2025 17:26

As someone with naturally red hair I've never thought of my skin tone as disgusting. Agree with the previous poster you need to work on your self esteem.

Somethingsnapped · 12/06/2025 17:33

Disgusting pale skin? Wow.

Do you think all pale skin is disgusting, or just your own?

JDM625 · 12/06/2025 17:37

If you are prone to going pink/red in the sun, then a green bikini.

I saw a programme years ago showing the same person in various shades, and green made her appear tanned, whereas other colours made her look pale!

WhatYaGottaDoo · 12/06/2025 17:47

Go green, there’s a reason Mary Magdalene (wife of Jesus) has so often been portrayed as a red-head wearing green…

Boxfreshrussell · 12/06/2025 17:51

Self tan is your friend although pale skin is gorgeous particularly with red hair. I always think khaki looks best on pale gingered haired people.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 12/06/2025 17:57

Teal/turquoise suits all skin tones.

If you are peachy toned, go for warm toned colours. Avoid black, white, cobalt, magenta, icy colours. Green looks great on redheads but make sure you go for warmer, yellow toned greens if you are peachy pale (shades like olive or apple).

If you are porcelain toned (more pink toned) go for cooler colours. Avoid earthy colours. Anything with a blue base will look good. Pastels will probably work. If you are going green, choose a cooler tone like mint or pine.

wokemeupagain · 12/06/2025 17:58

I never really notice other people being pale, years of bullying made me very conscious of my own! I cant self tan due to bad psosiaris unfortunately 😔

I have umpteen ones from Liz Hurley’s range in pinky reds and corals and some turquoise ones.

The fit is very good too.

Khaki, brown and orangey red - I do think black always looks good on everyone - did you watch This City is Ours? Hannah Onslow wore some gorgeous outfits and bikinis, which really suited her beautiful red hair and pale skin
