Gold necklace

I’m after a classy simple gold necklace for my birthday (solid)
I quite like this sort of thing which is a snake chain.
It is expensive (£800) but I’m after a timeless classic which sits on the collarbone and ideally I don’t have to take on and off all the time.
My only worry is if this sort of chain kinks and is too delicate? If it bent then it wouldn’t sit flat and would look distorted. Does it catch on hair is my other thought?
Has anyone got experience? Are there any jewellers out there that make bespoke gold necklaces that I could also consider?

you are not going to get a gold necklace for £800. Trust me - I looked recently as I was toying with the idea of getting one for around that price. Anything in that price range is gold plated.

i do like the £3,000 necklace.

Gold is at £2500 per ounce. £800 is not going to buy you much - a third of an ounce.

Hmm not a fan I'd worry about my skin or fine hairs getting pinched .
For that look ,I Iike a solid torc , but them you lose the fluidity

Those bastards rip invisible hairs out of your neck like an attractive yet mean epilator. Fine if you like regular twinges of sudden pain for no reason.

I’m got a number of silver snake chains and one gold, and all of their clasps tangle up in the hair at the back of my neck and rip hairs out. I don’t think I could sleep in them.
