Memories of tops you used to dress up jeans in the early 2000s!

Popped in my head today for no reason, that time when everyone did 'sparkly tops with jeans'. I didn't do it especially myself as I was more of an indie kid, but even I had a couple of sparkly tops for jeans (and one pair of kitten heels).

One was a sleeveless fully gold sequinned high necked top that had belonged to my grandma. It was really nice and well made but annoyingly seemed to vanish around the time I moved out of my parents'.

The other was an amethyst coloured silk camisole top with beading and embroidery around the top, from one of those Designers at Debenhams ranges. Gave that to the charity shop when I was no longer a size 8!

Black Monsoon ( sale buy) t shirt with a v neck with a line or two of sequins around the collar

A silver sequinned monstrosity that was backless and resembled a handkerchief in shape. Diamanté straps thay crossed over the bare back. Complete with g string on show.

I cringe now thinking about it. But then again, I had the bod to rock it. Distant memories...

I was v v fond of a strappy black camisole with low draped cowl neckline type of top. In fact you couldn’t keep me away from strappy camisole tops of any kind. Happy days!

I had a lilac lace cami with iridescent beads all over the bust, bought it for a rave and it became my 'going out' top. I think it was from Pilot, amazing clubwear in there!

I had a black sequinned racer back top, a black silk velvet long sleeved top for winter outings, a purple devore wrap top.

I found 2 of mine recently… DD18 now wears them!

I also had a fully sequinned and beaded cream handkerchief shaped thing with nothing but string to hold it all together at the back! It wasn't comfortable.

I had those handkerchief plus string tops. I think Jane Norman. One was purple snakeskin pattern with clear sequins all over and strings laced up the back. Another one similar but blue and white splodges pattern. Both with a bare middle showing. Worn with Miss Sixty incredibly low rise bootcut jeans and strappy high heels. Early 00s.

Bloody loved this top! Circa 2004 I think. The necklace is a real joy of the era too!!
