Laura Geller baked starter kit

Hi, this keeps coming up on my social media adverts, and I wondered if anyone has tried it and is it any good?

My skin was originally very greasy when younger but now with menopause it has dried slightly but I do tend to avoid any products that might make it greasy.

At the moment I am using a Korean company BB cream followed by laura Mercia foundation and am fairly happy with this. But the Laura Geller kit just looks so pretty !!! Am I falling for the advertising :)

Oh, I’m the same - I’ve nearly hit the buy button so many times! It looks amazing, but like you say, it’d be great to know if it’s just great marketing.

I’ve tried it a few times over the years and it’s pretty mediocre. The colours aren’t great and can look a bit orange. The formula is ok but nothing like the coverage advertised and to get decent coverage I’ve often ended up looking dry or cakey. I still have it and will occasionally use it if I just need to nip to the shops but it’s definitely not something I reach for.

if you do want to try it QVC sell it and you can return it even if you use it and don’t like it and you only pay for the postage.

I was going to suggest QVC then if you don't like it you can send it back

I bought it last year

Well I bought the pallete that has the blusher/bronzer/highlighters and eyeshadow and I bought the balance and brighten

Loved it so much I went on and spent a fortune :)

Post menopause very oily skin, now combination but get very dry around the top of eyebrows and between and in the nose creases - I have seb derm, which also causes redness

Balance and brighten is not full coverage so doesn't hide it - just tones it down. I went on to buy the double baked - full coverage and I use that to cover the red and then just go over the whole face to even it all out

I love that it doesn't settle/split or clump and best of all I cant feel it - at all. I never look like Im obviously wearing a foundation, I just look brighter and more even

The blushers and highlighters are highly pigmented - less is more

If you are going to buy direct, I suggest you sign up and use a junk email account. Dont order straight away, within days the special offers will come flying in - I never once have paid more then half price - usually a lot less . Takes about a week to dispatch, two more weeks to arrive.

Oh thank you for your comments on it. I'm just so undecided. Good idea though to register and then sit and see if any offers come in.

I've never used QVC, I've heard of the shopping channel but don't know how I get onto that. Unless they have an app now as well

Yes you can shop at QVC online and via app - think they have £5 off new customers orders

lindyloo57 · 03/06/2025 15:58

I love it, but it can look a bit orange in the medium, so I'm going to try a lighter shade, I wear it alone sometimes, I have oily skin, or lighter over a cc cream

@swearsbymoonlight they have a website and an app and £5 off your first purchase. Could be worth using it if you’re unsure you’ll like the products.

I bought the baked balance one very recently, it's completely orange unfortunately!
