I’d sort of given up on facials due to the fact you can buy better skin care stuff more easily than say 25 years ago and do a pretty good one at home. But I have got back into them more recently as part of a Clarins body ritual (facial and full body massage, very relaxing).

I did however go for a FB lymphatic drainage massage a couple of weeks ago which did include the face and also RF treatment to my neck/jawline which has made a difference to skin tone and under eye puffiness. I’d highly recommend both if you can find a decent practitioner.

I do have a Nuface device which I use pretty regularly which I think also helps. And the Sarah Chapman facial roller which is great at reducing tension and stimulating blood flow.

For context, I’m in my 50’s.

What are your skincare concerns? Do you have a decent skincare routine?

I’m 45, I go to a professional aesthetician and it varies but treatments I have had are: chemical peel, hydro facial, led light therapy, lymphatic drainage, micro needling.

I trust my aesthetician to do what needs to be done depending on my skin when I get there - I love it and go about every 8 weeks

@Netaporter I don’t have any skincare concerns as such and have a decent routine.
i was just wondering if a monthly facial would add to it .
kind of help keep my skin in better condition iykwim .

I think if you don’t have any specific skincare concerns and have a good routine I’d think about anti ageing /preventative treatments rather than a standard facial to keep everything at optimal levels. A good practitioner will recommend what you need. I’m dropping my relaxing/wafty facial for the next 6 months in favour of the lymphatic drainage/RF treatment because I need to deal with my lax jawline and turkey neck 😂

That sounds exactly the sort of thing I need @Netaporter
