GRADUATIONS!

There must be a few of us who have Graduations to attend this summer so what are you planning to wear?

I work at a University and have helped with a fair few Graduations but now it's my own child, the focus has been on reminding him (100 times) to get his gown sorted and I'm thinking about what I can wear.

The parents I've seen at my University have been anything from quite underdressed in trousers and a top to bodycon dresses that rival their daughters! Any ideas...?

This will be my my second in two years. I’ve got this dress and I’m really pleased with it. Still need to decide what colour of shoes or sandals.

Love that!
This is mine. I’ve got a wedding and two graduations this summer.
DH has a linen suit plus pink shirt for DD’s grad and blue shirt for DS.

What a lovely dress! Where did you buy it?

Just a simple dress did it for me. And comfy shoes - they are events that involve being on your feet. Simple jacket if necessary. DS's was such a wild weather day, I needed a raincoat and our umbrellas blew inside out. No hope of photos on the lawn.

Thank you. I got it in a small independent clothes shop local to me but the brand is Peruzzi. I’m so pleased with it. I’m never usually happy with anything I wear but I love this.

Thanks all - looks like an opportunity for a new (smarter than usual) dress😊

Thank you!

Comfy shoes are a must.

My favourite parent's outfit at DD's graduation was a Wimbledon umpire's jacket & tie.

It may also depend upon the university OP. I have been in Birmingham for several university graduation days and at the South Bank in London. Some are a riot of colour whereas others are more sedate.

Ooh, I DO like that.

Perfect for weddings and graduation.

I had hoped this would work for DD's summer graduation; I loved the fabric but the top of the dress did not suit my body. Back to the drawing board.

may i ask, why a pink shirt for DD & a blue shirt for DS? gender norms gone mad lmao

EllatrixB · 02/06/2025 21:13

Because that’s what DH wants to wear. You’re over-thinking this!
