The perfect t shirt?

Seymourscat · 01/06/2025 09:30

Fof me that is. Can anyone recommend a plain t shirt. Not tight or fitted but not too loose or boxy. With a crew neck that is on the high side (hate a low neck) and is a decent body length.

I usually buy men’s t.shirts as they are long and have good necks but they aren’t designed for breasts. Obviously!

any suggestions?

I've had some nice ones like this from M&S recently. Cheap too at £9.50.

TheOGCCL · 01/06/2025 10:50

The only one I’ve found with a high enough neck in M&S is this one. I had to go down two sizes though.

I spend half my life looking for T-shirts that fit your description. I’m very booby so want something that skims but isn’t shapeless. My other criteria is the neck seam shouldn’t be too thick, I like something more feminine. I also don’t want thick cotton as it’s too hot and doesn’t skim.

New Look do some, just basic cotton. H&M’s premium silk ones are quite good but thin and I should have sized down.

I’ve brought 2 from Cider - good quality.

Seymourscat · 01/06/2025 12:03

Thanks all. I will check those out.

Do you want shoulders fitted or dropped?

Colourful Standard are good fitted ones, good in the body, not too wide.

Recently got a striped one from Barbout with drooped shoulders, more of an overseiz look and quite thick.

Also had good ones from M&S for under £10- they are usually fitted shoulder seams or only slightly dropped shoulders which I like.

DoThePropeller · 01/06/2025 22:20

Whistles or Cos both good, more expensive but last and wash very well.

Seymourscat · 01/06/2025 23:10

Thanks. Not too dropped.

M & S or Uniqlo.
The Autograph ones at M & S are really thick quality cotton.

Sunseeker100 · 01/06/2025 23:19

I would agree with Autograph. Best white T-shirt I’ve ever had. Really nice shape and thick with high enough neck to peep above a sweatshirt.

Seymourscat · 08/06/2025 03:41

Thanks

Cos. Sezane. Rag and Bone.

rosiebl · 08/06/2025 08:39

Cos. By far my fave tee. Not many colours though.

Nightshadesdown · 08/06/2025 09:17

Stradivarius - might be a bit short. They have garment sizes on their products though which is so good so you can measure your favourite tshirt and compare.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 08/06/2025 15:42

Uniqlo Simply perfect

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/06/2025 16:03

COS or Uniqlo, I note people have suggested Autograph by M&S, I think that must be the more expensive brand, I tried some of the cheaper tshirts last year and they have all lost their shape in the wash.

Fannyy · 08/06/2025 16:15

Uniqlo crew neck is loose. Side slits and with a higher than average neckline. I like this.

The other one I like is what's called the mini T-shirt or something and it just rests on top of the waistband, describes itself as cropped but it's not this is mine.

And here is the Uniqlo crewneck

Problem with M&S at the moment is getting the correct size as you can’t order them. I have found the perfect t shirt colour I want. My local store only had it in size 8 & 10, one near my mother I checked when visiting with her only had 20 and upwards. I got the impression the staff are equally frustrated by the erratic deliveries but means you need to be lucky.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 08/06/2025 23:41

Yes I have a few of the Uniqlo crew necks. Fantastic quality and fit.
i size up as I like a looser fit.

Seymourscat · 09/06/2025 06:12

I find the Uniglo ones too short in the body and I don’t like the side splits.

OP posts:
RampantIvy · 09/06/2025 07:27

Mine don't have side splits. I like that they are hip length.

AwakeNotThruChoice · 09/06/2025 07:28

Have a look at John Lewis AnyDay brand

Seymourscat · 09/06/2025 22:55
