Best shapewear please

I’d love to hear about the most effective shapewear you’ve come across. I’m thinking the pants that come up to your bra, rather than a full body thing. They should have good compression - especially round the stomach - but be comfortable to wear and easy enough to get on, especially in hot weather.
I’m happy to spend a bit as they’re a present for a friend’s special birthday … her request, I hasten to add!!! So for that reason, I’d rather not do Primark.
For those who have Skims, would you recommend?

OP, what are you looking to wear with it? If you want it to wear with a dress, l would recommend a control slip like this:

lt is more comfortable and cooler, far more practical when you want a wee and you’ll feel less like Bridgett Jones when getting undressed. It also gives a better line. You can wear your own bra with it. M&S do one as well (l have both) but with the current chaos it does not appear to be on their website at present.
