Deep ridge down toenail - covering it up

one of my large toenails has a deep ridge vertically down it, and it’s really obvious even when I put nail polish on, almost like a crack. I almost need some kind of filler to use before putting on colour. I’ve never had gel nails etc. Any advice on how I can best cover up this deep groove? I’m assuming there’s not much I can do to actually get rid of the groove itself, seems like it might be an age thing.

Can you get one of those nail buffers that has about 6 (some pointless) sides & file it down on top? Thats what I do.

I had very ridged thumbnails and the best cover up I found was to get BIAB with gel polish on top. Gel on its own wasn’t thick enough and BIAB on its own chipped easily (might be ok on toes though) but both together was rock solid and filled the ridges.

It's usually caused by nail bed damage. Nails are damaged very easily and it's irreversible. You can get a manicurist to fill it in with gel or acrylic.
