Asked a seller on vinted if she could send me photos of the clothes hung up that l was interested in. ( 4 items but all just folded in half on her sofa).
Her reply?
" l don't have time to look for a spare coat hanger just for you.. they are sold as seen. Either buy them or don't.. no skin of my nose.. I'm not that desperate for money ".
Just WHY?

How much was she selling them for? I agree she was rude but if it's a £2 bundle I can understand not being bothered to make more of an effort to sell something so cheap. Wouldn't respond like she did though!

SoftLass · 30/05/2025 08:48

Ridiculous! I would just move on and not buy in that case. I don't buy anything if they haven't bothered to take an in-focus picture let alone one where you can't even see the item properly.

shoelady2 · 30/05/2025 09:02

That is very rude but also I wouldn’t want to spend more time individually photographing things either. I wouldn’t buy on principal for this particular person though. Or if I did I’d be petty and leave a bad review about their attitude.

Biropens · 30/05/2025 09:13

I’m with her on this

HopingForTheBest25 · 30/05/2025 09:22

Unnecessarily rude imo. If she's going to go to the effort of photographing and listing, then she ought to ensure her photos are decent. If she cba to add new pics, that's her prerogative but no need to be rude about it. She can just politely decline

dudsville · 30/05/2025 09:23

Your request is a fine one, and her reasoning is fine, but her response is rude.

I asked two sellers if they could give measurements, and they replied saying they don't own a measuring tape. My request was fine, their responses were fine, and they weren't rude about it.

My current vinted issue is someone was hassling me to reduce my price, I did, but not to the price they wanted, they kept pressing, so I declined and blocked in the end as I worried that they may not be a straightforward buyer. Quite quickly I got the same offer from another buyer whose own items up for sale are completely different to my own, so I suspect these two are friends. I've had a very good experience of vinted so far, but there can be some tensions.

HeySugarSugar · 30/05/2025 09:25

Not hanging up items so they can be clearly seen is so weird! 😄

Some of the photos on Vinted are sooooo bad they defy belief - I scroll on by and look for something else. 🤷‍♀️

DancingDucks · 30/05/2025 09:36

She was rude.

If I put something on Vinted for a fiver I still hang it up and take a decent photo.

Peasinthefreezer · 30/05/2025 09:57

Rude!!

If she’s not that desperate for the money and CBA to photograph them hanging up in the 1st place - why doesn’t she just donate them to a charity shop!

yeah, exactly! It wouldn't take much extra effort to take a few more pics when posting. I always take a decent amount of photos and include as many details as I can, even if I'm selling for a couple of quid, because I actually want to sell the item! It's more of a waste of time to put a half arsed post up.

tedibear · 30/05/2025 10:30

Wow that’s rude. She shld have just ignored the message if she couldn’t at least be polite.

I always think someone is hiding something if there’s only pic. Often something like the back of the dress is strange or you couldn’t wear a bra with it.

I always take lots of pics usually hanging up and lay flat on the floor. Front, back and close up. It only takes an extra minute to do this!

SunsetCocktails · 30/05/2025 10:44

Why would anyone waste time buying something that they can’t even see a photo of properly? I’d just scroll on, there’s a million other items out there with proper pictures. Tbh she sounds angry, probably because no one is buying her stuff!

No wasn't a bundle.
Was three dresses and a jacket.. all around £12 each.
I was hoping to make the bundle.

Rude and unnecessary response , she will probably struggle to sell the items without a proper photo. I certainly wouldn't buy anything that I couldn't see what it looked like properly.

Gardendiary · 30/05/2025 17:30

For that price, I would want to see them hung up too. Equally there is loads of stuff on Vinted, so if she’s not bothered about the money there is always someone else who will be. On to the next one.

For that price I'd have expected a full length photo of each on the advert
