Roseacea

Does anyone have any not too expensive recommendations for rosacea skin care? It’s for my dad who has a lot of redness and thickened skin on face. Unfortunately he currently washes with soap and has partakes in all the main triggers ( alcohol, hot drinks, running) so it’s got worse and worse.
He sees an NHS dermatologist for pre cancerous cells on the face and has cream for that. The dermatologist is not doing anything for the ( diagnosed) rosacea though.
Ive seen Estoteric Made advertisements but wondered what else people have tried? Thanks

No soap.

CeraVe hydrating wash
CeraVe lotion

Both in a pump bottle which with make it easy for him.

He's ruining his skin barrier with soap by the sounds of it!

I wouldn't put tallow on rosacea prone skin.

I’d agreee with cerave or say Cetaphil gentle skin wash. I use avene skin soothing cream (don’t know what it would be like on men’s skin though). Tell him an spf, cut down (I didn’t have to cut out, just eased up on eg white bread) on sugar and alcohol and drink water and hopefully he’ll see a difference

No red wine or spicy food. I hate it because I love both of those.
Pharaceris do a good range on escentuel.com.
But the pp have recommended ranges that are available at pharmacies so that will be more convenient.

Has he tried Soolantra on prescription?

Thanks so much everyone. I’ll look at these ideas.

Ok that’s interesting. Lots of companies promoting tallow products for rosacea. Do you think it’s too heavy/ greasy?

I just think it's the new thing that's advertised on FB/ Instagram, I view anything advertised on SM with suspicion as it's usually bollocks.

Good point! It so tricky to see through all the ads and many of these products are really pricey so don’t want to make a mistake . Glad I asked Mumsnet instead.
