I am back in tracksuits or jeans and a raincoat as I don’t know what to wear as it’s warm / cold / windy / spit of rain all within an hour. Help!

Check the forecast.

Wear appropriate, easily removed layers.

I have a cardigan/coat in the boot of my car and also in my locker at work at all times.

Sleeveless denim with a jacket is a good shout. I also wear tights with the option of removing them.

dudsville · 27/05/2025 07:58

Sleeveless DRESSES I meant to say!

Doggymummar · 27/05/2025 07:59

If you are in the UK, layers

I hate it when the weather is so changeable. I was in jeans, a T-shirt and a cotton chore jacket yesterday. Freezing outside, boiling in the shops. Fortunately missed the rain though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2025 08:18

I struggle with sleeveless plus a jacket because if it suddenly gets warm, I don’t really like showing the tops of my arms.

Thanks - yes today I have tights on under a long skirt but have got a raincoat on too not the most chic look! Saw other ladies tightless earlier 😮

trousers, short sleeve top and cardy plus rain coat. I tend to avoid dresses when it’s like this as I’m either cold or too warm so easier not to bother

msmillicentcat · 27/05/2025 11:45

I feel the same! Went out in jeans, tshirt and a raincoat yesterday and was freezing. Definitely back in sweatshirts/fine sweaters and trousers/jeans.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2025 15:41

Pissing it down today. I’m in jeans, a T-shirt and a trench coat with DMs and really wishing I had some sort of rain hat. It’s not cold, but very soggy and too windy for a brolly.

Totally get you—it’s been the same where I am lately. I’ve been living in layers, and one thing that’s surprisingly saved me is a Celtic shawl/wrap I picked up from Gaelsong: https://www.gaelsong.com/prod_detail_list/apparel-celtic-wraps. Super easy to throw on or take off depending on the weather, and it actually adds a nice touch to whatever you’re wearing. Way comfier than I expected too.
