M&S size translation

Alas, no M&S orders yet

needed to buy some basic T shirts, vest tops and pyjamas. Would buy 14 in M&S. i know M&S are very generous with sizing.

what's the equivalent for Next please? Looking at The Set. Am also short - 5ft 1.

I wouldn’t have considered M&S generous tbh. Next pretty similar size wise in my experience. Although trousers are getting stupidly long in regular length.

M&S are all over the shop with sizing. The same size jeans in a different colour but same design fit me in an 8 in one and I couldn’t do up a 10 in another colour. It’s annoying as fuck.

hmm, what to do, I always thought M&S was generous. My Cyberjammies are 16 but I've lost weight so too big now.

My experience is that M&S are really small - certainly they’re short with tops. With my kids clothes I always have to size up.

I would say M&S are about the same as Next for womenswear.

I think compare to other shops they’re both on the more generous size though. I’m an 8 at M&S but a 10 somewhere like New Look or Whistles.

@SunshineAndFizz short length on tops is probably why I've relied on them for T-shirts for years!

I'm really liking some of the things in Next. I'm not really supposed to be buying anything else though 😂

I bought 3 pairs of summer trousers in m and s (we don’t have much choice here!) one too big one too small and one just right.. I felt like Goldilocks. Saying that I think jeans are a different creature aren’t they?! I am a smaller 18 in m and s, next and an xl in shien if that helps x

At one point I had clothes from them that ranged from a 14 to a 26 (I am neither size!) - all fitted me pretty much the same,

I find M&S and Next similar for sizing, both in the generous side.
Often size down in both

I find that both M&S and Next are on the large side and have equivalent sizing.
