Robust but not thick tights for dd

Hi

Dd wears tights to school every day. She is going through pairs like there is no tomorrow. I don’t think she is doing anything to cause this but her tights are laddered and have holes in them after a wear or two. We just end up throwing pairs away each week, which is so wasteful. Or she will walk round looking unkempt.
She needs ones suitable for summer so not thick school tights.
she is secondary age so can wear women’s.
Has anyone found robust tights that last more than a day or two?

Thanls so much

Are you sure she isn’t doing it on purpose as it’s all the rage?

I love the tights from Snag - they’re a bit more expensive but they last really well. I used to constantly poke holes in mine (accidentally - long nails!) but haven’t had an issue with theirs.

Is it? Maybe she is. She doesn’t seem to care about the holes so it’s possible.

Thanks il look at snag.

DD always wore the Primark ones and they lasted really well

I was always very happy with M&S tights which lasted well for me

GladysHeeler · 24/05/2025 08:24

I’d just ask her for she’s bothered about the holes and if she isn’t I’d just go with it because I’d suspect that she’s done it as a ‘look’ amd it really doesn’t matter.

I've found m&s women's the best. Even the budget range are lasting longer than the ones from the children's sections

fatgirlswims · 24/05/2025 14:06

i wear snag for work as a teacher everyday and have about 6 pairs and some are from 2019. They are around £8 a pair. Ive not had to throw anyway but have sew a few toe holes up.

Ripped tights is a thing in school. I reckon she is following the crowd and ripping them on purpose - even the nice kids are doing it.

geekygardener · 24/05/2025 22:35

Well I wish she would just say that so I could stop buying more. My look and the way I dress is the opposite to conventional so I can’t see why she wouldn’t just say she did it on purpose

Snag - not the cheapest but definitely last longer than most!
