Facial sunscreen factor 50

Which facial sunscreen do I want - factor 50, non greasy? I keep using ordinary suncream and getting spots. I need it to be really effective due to easily burning and having family history of skin cancer.

I was told about Boots future defence shield which had been a recommendation by a dermatologist to a friend who had some skin cancer.I now use it and it’s not at all greasy

I use Clinique city block, I have had loads of issues with spots when using other sunscreen but this one seems ok.

Okayornot · 21/05/2025 19:51

I use heliocare, which is oil free and was recommended to me by a dermatologist.

Ultra Violette, Dermalogica, Anthelios - can't recall the exact one
Clinique city block
Mecca

I use La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ after recommendations on here. I tried other brands trying to save myself money but I came back to this one. I really like that it doesn't have a strong scent. It's not greasy at all, and I enjoy putting it on everyday.

I’ve started using this Korean one. It’s very light.

Ultrasun facial spf, they do a tinted one too. Anything else brings me out in spots

Napala · 21/05/2025 20:06

I had skin cancer last year, so I’ve tried a lot of facial spfs recently, favourite is cetaphil daily defence, doesn’t make me break out and just nice and easy to put on, my least favourite was altruist, awful clumpy, hard to rub in.

grizzlygrump · 21/05/2025 20:08

I use Mecca Sun serum and love it. Very sensitive + acne prone skin. Sits really well under makeup.

also good and cheaper is the beauty by Joseon rice one!

SwedishSayna · 21/05/2025 20:09

I have the same problem, I've tried quite a few and most of them break me out in acne. The LRP anthelios is the best but not ideal- I always double cleanse with a really astringent cleanser and follow up with a serum to fight acne.

Titasaducksarse · 21/05/2025 20:10

Vichy Capital Soleil factor 50
Brilliant stuff and non greasy or chalky
Male partner uses it too and he's prone to breakouts with greasy stuff

Another vote for Avene.

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/05/2025 20:12

I didn’t think the avene one was much different to soltan or the like.

I use biore watery essence- imported from Japan.

I have rosacea which is made worse by the sun so have tried quite a few but I always come back to this one. It soaks in beautifully and is absolutely non greasy. Very affordable too.

AliBaliBee1234 · 22/05/2025 21:30

Carbon Theory factor 50 is the only one i've tried which didn't break me out

wheretheheckissummer · 22/05/2025 22:06

I use this one. Often on 3 for 2 on no7 products too.
