Wedding outfit - is Rixo worth it?

Another wedding one!

Am going to a family wedding in the summer - it's all taking place at a smart London hotel and is a younger relative's wedding, so many of the guests will be in their 20s while I'm 40. It's 'black tie optional' so I also think there will be a lot of glam dresses, although DH and I are not planning to go for black tie. So slightly feeling the pressure to look amazing.

Looking at dress options and there's a lot I like from Rixo, but they are pricey! Are they worth it in terms of cut, quality, etc.? Also, are they true to size? Feeling a bit in the middle of everything in terms of occasion dresses feeling either too young or too old.

Rixo dresses are great but I’d say only worth buying if you will wear on more occasions. Otherwise consider hiring one maybe? Girl Meets Dress has lots of Rixo and its about £39 for 2 nights or £49 for 7…

Or check out By Rotation

I’m hiring a Rixo dress next week for my friend’s wedding. I rented off of Hurr. It’s costing me £13 for 4 days! I’ve rented from there before, and it’s bloody brilliant. Wouldn’t purchase a Rixo dress due to price point. 100% recommend Hurr x

Thanks yes I am definitely considering renting as I am really unlikely to wear these kinds of dresses regularly (if ever). Just paranoid that I would order something that wasn't a good fit and then would end up totally stuck for options (no shops selling anything suitable near where I live). I'm pear shaped so can sometimes struggle with things not fitting well - size 8 bust/waist but size 10 hips.

In that case, I would size up and get a 10. You can always try the dress on in store first. Or rent two dresses and send one back that you didn’t wear. (Still save money doing this compared to buying). On Hurr, if you message the lender beforehand, they might agree to refunding you if it doesn’t fit and you send it back straight away. Hope that helps x

With Rixo I find the sizing slightly random but generally on the larger size in my experience. Hope you find something nice. Sezane also has lovely things in at the moment.
