Well done on the weight loss, that's great! Who's style do you admire? https://www.wearsmymoney.com/fashion/77-summer-dresses/
Anything in these you like? ( I know some are over budget, just trying to find out what appeals to you!)

77 Summer Dresses - WearsMyMoney

77 summer dresses. Because the sun is shining and thoughts are turning to getting a new summer frock. They are for me anyway.

Vinted. Wrap dresses. They will still be wearable as your body shape changes and you could get a new wardrobe for £300 from there!!

hopefultragedy · 17/05/2025 23:10

Linen trousers are very flattering tucked in with a top that isn’t too baggy, affordable and comfy too!

evilharpy · 18/05/2025 09:33

Well done on the weight loss. Hard to tell from the photo but you look possibly apple shaped with nice legs. Would you wear shorts?

Theshallows1167 · 18/05/2025 09:49

Post some pictures of what kind of styles you like otherwise you’ll get a bunch of people of varying ages telling you what they think you should wear but it won’t be helpful if you don’t like that style. Mumsnet is great but sometimes people post stuff that they would wear but if they are 30 years older than you then it’s usually not stuff you would want to wear yourself.

However if you lengthened that top to a dress above your knees you’d look great.

Attictroll · 19/05/2025 08:08

Yes lose that top and maybe get a new bra ( sorry if I sound like Trinny) Must admit had too look back for your age. Without your face that outfit is the same as what my 75 year old mum wears, what styles do you like, what do you see people wearing that your are envious of. Are you only part way through your weight loss journey if so keep to your budget. I think some lovely wide leg trousers, and a long ish summer skirt. Then look for some tops that flatter what I imagine is a good cleavage. Browse and look at the high street on line, H&M, new look, next, and collect favourites. Enjoy going to try stuff on. On my weight loss journey I bought loads from charity shops and tried loads on.

Thanks everyone. I'm just going to leave new closed until I've lost more weight as the picture upset me as I look awful in it :(
Honestly thanks for the advice and I look forward to coming back

Ok @mounjarowoes now put that photo next to one before you lost five stone! Look how well you’ve done!

I understand you don’t want to buy loads of new stuff but in your shoes, heading into summer, I’d buy:

two pairs of wide leg linen trousers from H&M, black and navy, £17.99 each

matching short sleeve T-shirts from anywhere

waistcoat top in either colour

long satin skirt in either colour

tan sandals (go with either)

a dress you love from anywhere

So that will give you a few bits that FIT NICELY and give you a lift for being new. And the trousers and skirt being elasticated waist will last as you lose another stone or so.

GoldLash · 19/05/2025 20:49

What you’re wearing is absolutely fine @mounjarowoes

But you could be wearing more flattering clothes is what we’re suggesting as it’s Style and Beauty.

We want you to look your very best self

Buy clothes for the here and now

Buy one new top and trousers at least. You’ll feel better for it

You have a lovely figure right now just as it is.

You honestly don’t look awful in the photo! You should definitely reward yourself with some new clothes to celebrate your achievement. 💐

Goditsmemargaret · 19/05/2025 21:25

You do NOT look awful in the photo, you are just not making the best of your figure - honestly this is not unusual. I work in weightloss and I often see women still stuck mentally in their bigger bodies hiding in baggy clothes.

This is S&B and we want you to celebrate yourself in lovely gear.

healthybychristmas · 19/05/2025 21:35

You don't look terrible at all! Can you tell us what colour your hair is and your eyes? I'd like to see you in something more colourful. Did you used to wear a lot of black to hide yourself away in the past? That's what happened to me. I've lost 4.5 stone now and I'm struggling with what to wear. You have a really nice figure and it would be great if we could help you come up with something new.

But it’s just the clothes you are wearing OP! It’s not a nice outfit, sorry! Just get one wrap dress from Vinted! Wear with a vest underneath. You’ll feel soo different.
