Summer skirts (for those times shorts would be ideal but you don't wear them!)

Times like doing the gardening, walking the dog, meeting a mate for a drink, popping to the shops - casual but not frumpy. Any recommendations? I do wear dresses quite a lot in the summer but sometimes just want to bung on a vest top & something cool on the bottom & let my legs get some sun.

I have a demin midi skirt I wear quite a lot but that's the extent of it! Size 14 pear shape with good waist & top half but chunky thighs & ugly knees so tend to avoid anything toosnug on the bum or above knee. I buy mainly from Vinted with basics from Uniqlo/M&S.

Have a look at outdoor wear companies. Skirts are becoming more popular. Eg rohan, trespass, mountain warehouse. Google hiking skirt.

I'm not sure you could do the gardening in them.....but white cotton/linen midi skirts are very in at the moment, and look lovely with a black vest top and sandals. Cool and wafty.

cotton/linen midi skirt sounds good - any suggestions? I might need to invest in a darker colour too for dog walks & gardening 😆

Culottes/divided skirts.

Thanks all. Daisy skirt sold but quite like it so will keep an eye out for something similar and a couple of
linen skirts will probably be the answer.

i like the look of culottes on others but just find them too much material on my wide hips & thighs!

@mewkinslike the look of that thank you - just ordered one as I was buying something from them anyway.

I got the gingham version of this skirt, then bought the red cotton poplin one as I liked it so much. Really comfy and look great. I’m a UK 12 and probably could have got a 10. I wore the gingham one today with a red graphic tee, black and white Samba trainers and a black oversized Levi’s denim jacket.
