Jeans recommendations when larger around the middle

Really struggling to find jeans to fit me. I was a pear shape until around 10 years ago. Post menopause and my belly is huge in comparison with my bum/hips/thighs so something that fits my waist becomes too baggy elsewhere.

Prefer slim or straight shape (ie not skinny, not wide leg), pale denim with stretch. I’m a size 16 and short.

There was a recommendation on another thread for some super soft jeans from Nexr which were really nice, but 16 too tight on the waist, 18 too baggy elsewhere.

Is there anyone who is a similar shape able to recommend any for me please?

The Halara ones are great in terms of stretch and comfort, and they fit nicely Women’s Halara Flex™ High Waisted Button Zipper Multiple Pockets Straight Leg Stretchy Knit Casual Jeans - Halara

I'm a similar shape - have found Uniqlo ones quite good.

These might suit me, nice and stretchy, are they true to size and how are they lengthwise? Thanks

I find them true to size but some of the reviews say that they find them large. Definitely look at their size guide and have a measure of how your body compares to the size chart to decide between going for an M or L. Length wise, I have pretty average length legs so the regular fit me well, you might find the petite fits you better if you're shorter but again have a look at the size guide as it will give you the length of petite vs regular (sorry for the very non prescriptive reply!)

I’ve now received my Halara jeans and they are exactly what I wanted. Very light and stretchy like jeggings but with straight legs rather than skinny. May get some wide legs too.

You might try Marks & Spencer’s Ivy jeans – they have a soft, stretchy straight fit and are good for curvier waists without being baggy in the legs. Also check NYDJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans) – pricey but great for tummy control and shaping.
