Help with Damaged Hair

Hi everyone! I made the mistake of using a split end trimmer I bought on eBay during the pandemic—thinking it would be safer than trimming my hair myself. I only used it once, but unfortunately, it seems to have caused lasting damage. Now my hair is growing out coarse and brittle, and even my go-to Kerastase products haven’t helped with the recovery. Has anyone experienced something similar or found treatments that actually helped restore hair health? I’d really appreciate your insights!

PS. I’ve attached a photo of a strand of my hair for reference—most of it looks like this now, unfortunately.

How you have trimmed your hair won't impact how it's growing. Hair on the cutting end is dead. The follicles determine how it grows and are impacted by nutrition and underlying health. Have you been unwell or not eating well?

If your hair is brittle I find a good quality hair oil is great. I've got different types - heavier oil, lighter oil, spray in oil. The one I use depends on what I'm wanting to do eg the heavier oil is a good treatment pre wash. The spray in is good during the week for frizzies. My hair is long (about the length of my arm), fine and curly. It's only grown long since I started oiling it.
