Products/methods to prevent tangling

I have long straight hair and over the last year, I have found it is getting tangled a lot. I assume it’s to do with my hair getting dryer as I am getting older, but I have tried increasing moisture and using hair masks etc, which has improved it a bit, but doesn’t stop the problem. Brushing through the tangles is pulling a lot of hair out.

Can anyone recommend great products to deal with this? Or even methods which work for you please? Before anyone suggests cutting it, I tried that. I cut quite a lot off the length about 10 months ago and it made no difference (apart from the shorter hair not suiting me!)

Hopeful bump as I’m heading out to the shops soon!

Brush your hair before you wash it.
Blot your hair to dry it (don't rub).

Try a leave-in conditioner?

Thanks @DisplayPurposesOnly. Is there a leave in conditioner you’d recommend please?

I use this on my DD, it’s very good. https://amzn.eu/d/dH8zUpy

My hairdresser also recommended this hairbrush which I find helps with the tangles

Not on point but just spotted that I wrote dryer instead of drier. Arghhh!
