Does this look rubbish?

I was asked to get a silver cross for my niece’s First Holy Communion.

I ordered this D for Diamonds necklace and it arrived today.

I obviously didn’t pay close attention to the dimensions, and although I’m not into too much bling, was a bit surprised at the size of it. You can’t even really tell it has a diamond in it, but aside from that it seems really tiny.

Is It too small and boring, or is it suitably understated for an eight year old?

I would ask her parents, looks small to me but I don't know what they expected

I’m not personally a fan of it, not because of its size but because I would have expected something a little more ‘traditional’ looking for a first holy communion… but maybe that’s just me!

I think the pendant looks fine for a little girl. As long as the chain is the right length I think it will be OK

If you paid quite a lot for it and were expecting a bigger diamond though, maybe return it and have a look round some shops in person if you can

I do think she might be hoping for something a bit prettier as she'll be keeping it forever - sorry.

It looks about 15/20E to me… I’d be unimpressed if I paid more.

To me it looks plated or oxidised - were you asked to get a black one or am I viewing it oddly?

From the photo I don't think it looks like what a little girl would want, sorry 🙈 hopefully you have time to return it and get something else if that's what you'd like to do 😊

Hi OP - I’m Catholic and had my First Holy Communion in 1976 - it’s lovely and appropriate you’ve chosen well and I would buy that for my granddaughter’s Holy Communion x

I can’t really see any others that I like that aren’t too expensive, and the cheaper once’s will be cheaper for a reason. This one was only £32, but I don’t want to spend much more. As much as I love her, she’s one of five, and counting!

I’ve see this one, but I’m not sure it’s too grown up?

I asked for any preferences and was told they were happy for me to choose.

I really like it. I would get that for my godchildren.
