Clean ( recently went in a very dirty one at John Lewis); lots of space to hang what I’m trying on- ideally in two different places so I can separate things); somewhere to put my bag and clothes I take off; big enough; big mirror; door or curtain that closes properly. The absolute ideal would be a member of staff available in case I need an opinion or something else to be fetched.

Lots of hanging space; preferably a locking door, but a curtain that overlaps a lip on both sides of the front of the booth is fine; cleverly positioned mirrors so you can see enough of the back as well as the front; clean and fresh-smelling would be lovely, although I realise that depends a lot on how clean and fresh-smelling other customers are; a member of staff available to help if you need alternatives bringing.

Good lighting, some of them are so dark.

Hangers on all walls so you can have a 'yet to try' 'looked shit' and 'buy' system

I remember when M and S brought out Autograph and it had its own changing rooms. The doors locked, there was a chair, plenty of hanging space and a big enough cubicle, mirrors that you could angle so you could see the back and lighting that you could change from day to night - they were amazing.
