Is the fabric of this Whistles top meant to look like this?

This came in an online order and i noticed the marl detail of the fabric goes diagonally.
An intentional style detail or manufacturing error? I really can't decide what I think about it.

No it’s bad quality.

I would have expected better from them.

I can't get a close enough view but is the fabric cut on the bias (are the individual threads diagonal)? If it is then I would guess it's probably intentional as cutting on a straight grain is generally more straightforward and economical, especially in mass manufacturing (less fabric left over). Does it hang differently on the body to most T shirts?

I do find that type of fabric tends to twist when washed so goes out of shape.
I would return personally.
Muji and Uniqlo are fantastic quality and probably much less than the price of Whistles.

I've noticed this on slub fabric tshirts before - from Boden specifically. I think it's an intentional bias cut.

Close up, especially on the Whistles website, it looks like the weave structure is ok but there's a slanted pattern of marl lines.

Bloody hate slub it's see through cheap (even when it's not) and twists and turns and gives me the rage

@Floisme it hangs beautifully, unfortunately.
I've decided I can't be doing with this, and as a pp stated, the same detail is in the top on the website picture so likely an intentional thing. Not for me thought, a shame as the colour and neck detail is lovely.
