Does anyone own a Mulberry Islington?

Had a surprise bonus and decided to treat myself.
Will probably go for the mini version and would love to hear real life reviews.
The blue is pretty but will most likely go black or brown for longevity.

I don’t have an Islington - have a couple of mulberries and they are good bags. What I came on to say is that if you want the blue, get the blue. Don’t get the sensible choice, it’s a bonus, get what you want.

of course, the real sensible choice is to buy a perfectly serviceable cross body bag from M&S and put the rest of the money in savings /pension /spend it on the MN bag alternative of a bench or mini break. So as you aren’t being sensible, be frivolous in the way that makes you the most happy. (Plus blue is one of those colours I have a lot of in my wardrobe, if you are the same then it would still be a bag you’d get lots wear out of.)

Such a lovely bag. I don’t have one (yet..), but have a few Mulberrys which I love (my burgundy Iris is a fave.) The blue is such an awesome colour - get the blue!

I never see mulberry’s in the wild but they are so popular on MN. I wonder if it’s a regional thing

I have one (full size) and I love it! It does feel quite stiff to start with, but the leather will soften with wear.

Get the blue if you love the blue, it will make you happy.

I saw them in the shop when I was buying a different one (a Lily) and they are absolutely gorgeous. I nearly got one instead of the Lily.

Thanks all for the comments, I’m going to bite the bullet.
You’re all swaying me towards the blue, blue is fun, frivolous and treaty right?

Looking at the dimensions the mini does look a bit small. I was going to order online but I think I’d better go and see in real life to make sure which suits me better.

Thanks again!

As someone who bought an orange Longchamp Smile, go for the colour you love. It doesn’t need to match a single thing to look great and bring you joy. If you bought the black one you’ll be wishing you bought the blue one. If you buy the blue one you’ll won’t think about buying the black one.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 09/05/2025 07:49

Go have a look and pick the colour you love.

take stuff with you and make sure it all fits in the small one, the staff didn’t mind me doing a “does a kindle fit?” Check when I got a small
amberley.

Ive got the Islington shoulder bag but I suspect you mean the bucket. It’s a lovely bag but it’s a bit big for me & I wish I’d got the zipped Bayswater instead. But it was half price in the sale.

but I would definitely buy another Mulberry.

FourBlackCats · 09/05/2025 09:30

If you love the blue, get the blue! I got a pale blue mini Alexa last year and have zero regrets about not getting a more sensible colour. I would second going to see it in person and checking your stuff fits.

Has anyone got the oak or the chalk, or even cashmere islington bucket. I cant decide in what colour would be more useful. Dont need black as have a Anthony in black crock. Ive been saving and need to get it right

I'd check in person, I have a vague recollection that the small wasn't quite tall enough for my phone. Also, it's a bit hard to get into for an every day bag due to the pinched opening. The quality of Mulberrys is great though.
