Waxing before holiday!

Hi. I go away soon. I’m due to having waxing 3 days before, is that enough time or should I have it done sooner. Also I’m a newbie to waxing so is there anything I need to do before hand please? I have a natural tan at moment, will this come off when waxed?

thanks 😊

I’m assuming bikini? 20+ years waxing here, so I can’t quite remember my first few times.

BUT…make sure you exfoliate a couple of days before, it will feel painful for a few moments while it’s being done but a good waxer will have perfected the technique to minimise pain - take a couple of paracetamol an hour before to help dull the pain. That timing sounds right, any redness will go within a few hours.

Take paracetamol half an hour before the appointment. Pain only lasts a second.

If it’s a bikini wax then make sure it’s hot wax not strip wax.

Why hot wax? I’ve used strip for 30 years with no issue.

3 days would be perfect for me. Potentially it might lighten your tan but it shouldn’t be too bad. As others say, if it’s your first time it might be worth taking some paracetamol before you go.

I’ve been waxing for about 34 years and think of it as a relaxing chill time now but that’s probably because I’ve killed off all my pain receptors so I barely feel it!😂😂

@BeretRaspberry me too! It’s the only time I get 15 minutes to myself!

Strip wax is fine for legs/regular bikini, but hot wax (Lycon) is preferred for Hollywood/Brazillian - apparently it’s more effective and less painful.

Yes it should be fine. I usually wax my legs two days before I go on holiday and have never had any problems. Unless your talking about bikini wax then I’m unsure about that
