58 and going to On the Beach at Brighton…

I am 58, I am going to Brighton, On the Beach in July to see Human League, TOYAH!! Marc Almond etc.
I’m a life long fan of Toyah.
Im going with my 27yr old son (bless him, didn’t want me going on my own) but I’ve not been to any concert in… I really can’t remember how many years, we will be in the VIP area
I've never been a ‘VIP’ before😆 and really not sure if there’s some sort of dress code? Ie smart casual or wear what you want.
I've always worn what I feel comfortable in mainly black, jeans, t-shirt and jumper/ hoodie 🤷‍♀️
What can I/we expect?

I went last year. No dress code for the main event. Most people were in trainers. I did see the VIP balcony area with envy - again mostly it was pretty casual.

Defo saw some topless people in shorts. Some dresses and large hats.

I don't think you'd be out of place in a tshirt.

The VIP area looks out across the whole event.

Enjoy!

Expect expensive drinks 😂

We had an absolute blast at Carl Cox.

If you want to eat anywhere beforehand probably make sure to book.

My go to for these kinds of events, as a woman who was there at the time, is an 80s band tshirt (reproduction from Amazon), denim shorts, trainers, floppy hat.

No idea if that's "right" but it's comfortable and practical and doesn't feel out of place.

Ahem, or vodka in blood bags in your bra...

They bring it on themselves by charging such ridiculous prices (and having such long queues).

OP has a VIP pass, that'll be a hip flask 😂

I think we did smuggle in some wine in water bottles...
