Looking for a new foundation

It took me a while to find the perfect foundation and now it’s been discontinued! I was using the Too Faced Born This Way 24 hour matte foundation, the shade was cloud. They’ve reformulated it and it’s now just awful. I’m looking for a cruelty free, full coverage foundation, good for dry skin and for pale skin tones. Any recommendations?

I bought Sheseido in Japan and it’s the best foundation I’ve ever had.

I look for exactly the same criteria in a foundation and I have recently discovered the MUA Pro base foundation. It's only £6, there's a good range of pale shades, great coverage and cruelty free MUA foundation

On the more spendy side I like the Fenty Beauty matte longwear foundation, but honestly that has been relegated for me to as I prefer the MUA one.

Nars is not cruelty free.

I have very oily skin and have been using the Elf Soft Glam foundation, it's really lovely and feels like a much more expensive formulation.

Shiseido is not cruelty free.

Ah yes, just saw that they sell in China. Shame. They're off my list now (not that I've ever bought anything from them, but still!).

For £6 this is worth a go!

For me Estée Lauder is the best foundation - although I just did a quick google search and apparently it’s not completely cruelty free so 😞

It's not cruelty free at all. Their products are tested on animals for the Chinese market.

Yes it says on their website that they sell in countries where it’s mandatory to test on animals. 😞

I've just got the Alturist tinted face sun cream and it is very similar to Eborian which colour matches and added plus of 50spf

Giddykiddy · 01/05/2025 16:22

recently bought Eborian BB and CC cream after reading a recommendation in The Times - they go on so easily and adjust to your skin colour - perfect coverage too
