White dress for event

I'm looking for a dress like this but cheaper, would that exist? I would only wear it for a dancing event once every year at max.

It needs to be white and and not too short, that's the general requirement.

For my shape I need a defined waste, possibly A line and a not too deep V neck. Preferably sleeveless or wide short sleeves to not sweat too badly.

I'm trying to live sustainably, haven't shopped clothes for a while so not even sure where to start looking, any help is really appreciated.

This from Next?

Thank you @Overtheatlantic that's definitely one I would consider. Just not sure about the waist as it looks great on the model, but no visible waist on the third picture. The sleeve is a bit longer too than what I would ideally like.

I do need a white dress one way or another so thanks so much! The collar is a nice touch 🙂

Wow, how did you two do it I was searching for hours!

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea this is gorgeous! No it doesn't need to be V neck, just look ok on me, I have small breasts. This is certainly one to try, I'm getting excited now.

Does it need to be a V neck, or just a neckline that isn’t too low? What about this one ?

Does it have a waist at the waistline or is it higher up under the breast? Is it online only? Sorry my lack of recent shopping experience shows here. Also it's hard to see details as the dress is white.

Click on the red or black and white patterned versions.

I’d look on Vinted, too, especialy if sustainability matters.
I’ll never buy patterned things just by photos again as they can look v different in real life, but I got 3 dresses from there recently and I’m quite happy. As long as you know your size in the brands you’re buying.

The dress I linked is by Laura Ashley but it’s off the Next website. Next do a whole lot of other brands. I put in a search function of midi dresses, white, cotton. There were a few others that may meet your criteria but they were more expensive. Have a look - you can order and return if you don’t like them (although admittedly I have an account which makes it easier to do that).

Great idea, thanks. I also checked it out on a bigger screen than my phone, looks perfect!

Thank you very much. It fits my description but I just don't like this one as much as the others. Not sure why!

Thanks for all the suggestions I'm getting the hang of it now. @ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea I followed you suggestion in a more general way: go on website, select dresses, filter for price and colour.

Did it on Next, Primark, Vinted, Debenhams. Anywhere else to look? I should be sorted now, thanks so much all ❤️👗

You could try John Lewis as they stock a few different brands , or H&M, New Look for cheaper.
