Is this dress nice?

I bought this dress to go to a formal occasion. I was happy to get something I felt relatively good in but my daughter (16) thinks it's horrible so now I have second thoughts. I usually trust her judgement. What do you think? I am in my 40s, size 12, pear shape.

What have you decided @CluelessStyle? I do agree that the dress looks nicer on the bigger screen, but I still prefer the blue size 10 one for this event. If you do go with this one, I would dress it up a bit with shoes and jewellery - I know a pp has recommended tan wedges, which I can see would work in some circumstances, but I'd avoid them here, as I think they'll look too garden party. What are your shoe options?

@nojudge thanks for asking, I actually found another dress at the weekend which will wear. My daughter thinks it's fine!
I am not going to share it here because I don't want the negativity. I am going to return the phase eight one. I think the length wasn't ideal for me.
I have tried the navy Boden dress too. I like it but it's quite casual for the occasion. I feel it overwhelms me a bit being a solid dark colour but it is my daughters favourite. I might keep it for a less formal occasion as I have a few things coming up over the summer. If anyone is interested in the Boden dress I would say it is quite generous as the 10 fits me perfectly and I am usually a 12 at the moment.

I agree with not sharing what you've decided. It's already won approval from the harshest critic though. If its teen daughter approved, you're home and dry!

It's OK. It's not horrible. It's just a bit...bland I guess. Like something that would never stick in my mind as anything g special, but I wouldn't go 'ew gross'.
