Shorts for those with runners thighs

My annual quest has begun for shorts that fit my rather generous runners thighs.
last year I ended up with Uniqlo linen style ones, high waist but very loose. However, they really do emphasise my peri menopausal belly and are shapeless really. Plus they can start to look quite tatty, creased and well….

i ordered some joules and fatface chino ones in a 12,(on vinted) - i comfortably fit size 10 in these stores. However the combination of cotton with a bit of stretch and they are basically cycling shorts - they look awful. But they’re pretty much what I’m looking for except I need about 3 inches more in the thigh!

So- no high waists, but also I need a loose fit at the bottom of the thigh, but not made of flippy material, I want proper shorts. Maybe denim at a push. Not too long (I do actually have ok legs due to all the running). And I can’t really size up much more at the waist because then they gape and fall down.

Any recommendations? Or any stores that put the actual thigh circumference on the website??

I also have generous thighs and a peri+2 kids late in life tummy and I swear by these. Super comfy and flattering. I've just ordered 2 more pairs, and given I've not worn shorts in about 6 years, that's a pretty big deal!

Oh I have often wondered about these. They look good, are they decent quality? I guess they are like jersey fabric? Did you buy your normal size?

Yes jersey material but they feel pretty good quality, not cheap. The undershorts fit really nicely then the baggier ones save my modesty 🤣 I really rate them. I wear the M 12/14 and I'm a 12 usually.
Maybe you could look on Vinted for a pair to try out?
