Commuter backpack: help!

Croissantsfordinner · 29/04/2025 09:27

I need a comfy but nice backpack for commuting. Needs enough space for a 13in laptop, notebook, headphones, ideally a lunch box plus other stuff like phone, a small make up bag etc.
I am quite petite so don’t want a massive one but not a mini one either.
I like the look of some of the sandqvist ones, would like something that isn’t too corporate/trekking/changi by bag like.
Budget is around £100, can stretch to £140ish for the right one.

I just bought a Nordace Sienna.

think it was about £80 but may have been in a sale.

I have the Mia Tui Sydney - lovely bag

Roka do a wide range of sizes abd colours. They’re very well made and have loads of pockets and a padded section for a laptop.

90% of the female commuters on my line seem to have a Knomo backpack.

Fedupwithneighbours · 30/04/2025 06:19

I use a Knomo. It was expensive but I bought it in 2018 and it’s still going strong

recently bought a roll top as I wanted something bigger to fit in my lunch and liked the look of this design. I couldn’t get on with it at all. Like trying to search for my stuff in a bin bag that doesn’t open properly at the top!

DH has a nordace one and it’s very good.

Antler travel rucksack has now been my go to. Really comfy to wear (I’m short !) loads of compartments and I can use for travelling when I go on holiday !

You can't go wrong with Roka in my opinion. But with a laptop, I'd go for a large over a medium - I find the mediums quite small .

I have a large Roka, 2 years old and still looks new, but looking to replace it with something better structured that doesn't pull away/out from my back so much. The capacity and pockets are excellent though! Watching with interest to see what I should try instead.
