I need a new perfume

I’m rubbish at picking perfumes. I went round some shops having a sniff, then got a headache.

In the past I’ve had a few of the Chanel range and I’m currently using Tom Ford Neroli Portofino but running out. Also had Beautiful from Este Lauder.

I don’t like really heavy perfume like Poison or something you can cut through. Nor something light or flowery.

How do I pick a perfume? I smell nice ones on people and ask them what it is, but when I try it I don’t think it’s for me. I feel like my perfume choices are safe and dull.

I just want to smell fabulous 😢

I can’t comment on a particular perfume but the noted aromas perfume dupes are fantastic. You can order any number of 5ml bottles v cheaply so if you want to try a few out to see what you like ratter than just a quick spray in a shop then that’s a great option. Also great for taking on holiday!

Go to a department store and smell them all until you find something that piques your fancy.

Perfume is such a personal thing, I’ve gone to try some recommendations and found them awful (Le Labo!) and then randomly found ones I like from a brand I never heard of

Le Labo Santal 33, is my current favorite. Most perfumes trigger my migraines.

Floral Street do sample packs of all their best sellers, and they have some lovely ones.

I have never had a fragrance from Guerlain that I didn't love!

Glossier eau is really lovely and fresh

Daisy gold and black bottle has a gorgeous smell

I love perfumes I can smell but don’t overpower the room .

My DH accidentally put it on a few weeks ago when he was rushing to get ready for work in the dark. He said he'd made a mental note to scrub it off later but 3 women in his office asked him what he was wearing because he smelt amazing so he just rolled with it😂

I've made some very expensive mistakes buying blind or from spraying onto a card strip rather than my own skin! I can't get on with any Jo Malone or YSL fragrances AT ALL, both make me headachy and nauseous. Choose one in store, spray onto your skin and then decide 6 hours later if you still like it!
