What to wear with this dress for the races?

I'm going to the Chester races the week after next and am planning to wear this dress. Any idea what I could wear with it - like a cardigan / jacket / shrug ? I have pale pink / beigey block heels.

Also, will I need a hat or fascinator??

Black leather jacket

A cropped jacket in a block colour - this one is from Mango

The weather is really warming up. A black leather jacket is the last thing I would wear with that dress. To brighten it up and bearing in mind the weather is hitting up I would go for a cashmere pale pink cardigan. Slim fitting, buttons up the front, round neck (like a twin set cardi). I’d go for the same pink as is in the dress. I’d wear a nice thick padded blue or pink head band.

Nice dress. I'd go for a lightweight green cardigan.

Thanks everyone - yes, I'm hoping it might be warmish (probably wishful thinking!!) but I probably want something lighter than a leather jacket.

I hadn't thought of green although I quite like the cropped jacket.

Which day are you going? If it isn’t ladies day (Thursday) I probably wouldn’t wear a hat or fascinator

I was going to ask what day too, you won't need a hat or fascinator any of the days but there'll be plenty of them, especially on the Thursday

I'm going on Wednesday so maybe I don't need to worry about a hat then 😀
