I am housebound by disability and haven’t been to a beauty counter (or anywhere much except hospitals) for about six years.
I am going to John Lewis soon and am looking forward to seeing what’s new.
I like barely there sort of make up and am mid fifties with slightly oily skin. I need spf 50 as I have melanoma. Perfume wise I like florals.
Is there anything particularly nice that I should look at whilst I am there?

Firstly I hope you have a lovely trip

I recently tried the news Clinique SPF 50 foundation/tint and really liked it - there are a lot of shades so you really need to be matched - it was very light on my skin and lasted well

Not sure what else to try as we all like different things - Id be looking at one of the Chanel CoCo Baumé lip balms or a Bobbi Brown lipstick or balm , for me perfume is always a lovely treat

I’ll leave the make-up to others but I have a virtually housebound relative and the thing that makes the most difference to her is a really good body oil for massage and moisturising. They can be made at home with a carrier oil and essential oil but something with a more complex fragrance is always nice.

JL has lots to choose from - depending on your budget and what a particular store has in stock.

Dr Hauschka, and Aromatherapy Associates both have oils I’d recommend. (If someone else were paying the Chanel or Hermes might be worth investigating!)
