Off the shelf make up suggestions

Please can anyone recommend a mascara and a foundation?

When I say off the shelf, I mean not going to a counter where prices are extortionate.

Used to use MAC foundation (£24) but at £36 now, I cannot justify the hike. I like matt coverage foundation but don’t want to look or feel caked. Perimeno skin is the bane of my life so want something lightweight but with good coverage (if that exists?)

Would like a mascara that does not smudge, gives length and separates the lashes nicely when applied.

Thank you

L’’Oreal bb cream and Maybelline mascara. I have really great lashes so don’t care too much about jackets but the sky high
one doesn’t seem to dry them out and definitely enhances them.

I have tried loads of foundations but I always come back to Max Factor Miracle Touch liquid illusion foundation. It comes in a compact with a sponge. Really easy to build up. About £16

Mascara I use Soap and Glory Thick and Fast waterproof. No smudging.
