SPF Face Moisturiser Recommendations Please

In my early 70s now and looking for a high protection daytime moisturiser to wear on top of my various serums and occasionally under foundation. I'm coming to the bottom of the SPF 15 moisturiser I've been using and I'm sure I need something stronger. I have very fair skin and I live on the south-west coast, spending a lot of time outdoors. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Cerave factor 50?

crazycatladie · 23/04/2025 20:48

I use Nivea Sun derma skin care spf 50. You put it on after your moisturiser and then you can apply foundation if you want to. I really liked it as it wasn’t thick it absorbed well and I didn’t get any sun burn while on holiday. I’m going to use this everyday in the summer.

I’m in my sixties and love La Roche Posay factor 50-in the tube not pump. No grease and great under make up.

I really like the Inkey List Polyglutamic acid SPF 30! I use it as a moisturiser and SPF in one.

Another vote for LaRoche Posay, but my skin is so sensitive I really daren't try anything else

My consultant dermatologist (I see her for melanoma) recommended Altruist spf 50 facial moisturiser.

I have been maintaining my routine for quite sometime with La roche posay's spf after some research with that and will share here if that provides any help:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
LRP spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

I came on to recommend Alturist. Developed by a dermatologist and as cheap as chips.

Cerave factor 50?

Yes, this is fantastic. Not too pricey, lovely on the skin and works.
I used to use the Dermalogica one, but at £79 a go, I changed to Cerave which is just under £20.
