Denim dress

For the first time ever I bought a denim dress and it's a sleeveless midi dress. I bought it online and on the model it was not very long but on me it came nearly down to my ankles. I am not short I am five foot six which is average height so I'm going to have to go and get it shortened at least six inches. I think when it is the correct length it will look very nice with the right accessories and footwear. The trend now is to wear trainers with skirts but i hate the look. I only wear trainers was jogging bottoms or jeans and some people in my office where trainers to work which I have never done nor have I Ever Worn jeans to the office because I prefer to look very smart to the office in a pair of heels and a nice dress or skirt because it looks more business like

Loads of people don't wear trainers with skirts or dresses. I don't.

That’s nice dear. Is there a question in there somewhere?

I bought a gorgeous knee length denim dress. I look absolutely awful in it 😫 can't do knee length even though I'm slim.
Trainers with dresses/skirts should be a capital offence. They are dated and awful.

I would have thought if you are Slim you can wear kneelings why can't you wear knee lengths

I saw a gorgeous skirt Suits online and when I looked further as it said it was 100% polyester which is awful because that means you switch why do they make things out of the awful fabric polyester

I think it's because I'm hourglass shaped, quite a large bust and curvy hips, it all looked wrong. I think it would have looked lovely if I'd been straight up and down.
I seem to suit trousers and longer dresses better.

Ok, so on you it’s more maxi length. Maxi dresses are lovely, you could just keep it like that, but shorten it if you want to obvs. I don’t do trainers with dresses, just not my thing, but as a trend it’s so far out you can’t see it just now anyway, lol. I’d wear sandals, or pointy flats, or clogs are back if you like them.

henlake7 · 23/04/2025 08:46

Love a denim dress, and love a maxi for the summer! If its not your thing though then shorten away.
I just have 2 denim dresses. A knee length shirt dress and a midi with a nipped in waist and awesome balloon sleeves.
No posh shoes for me though, I wear high or low tops coz I like to be comfy.

I hate maxi dresses I wouldn't wear a maxi dress in a million years I've gone to the dry cleaners to get it shortened
