Acrylic nails VS gel extensions?

Has anyone had acrylic nails and gel extensions and is able to tell me the difference please?

I’m thinking of leaving my nail tech. She’s just put her prices up again and it’s now £85 for a removal, gel extensions and nail art. Yet only two years ago, I was paying about £50. And this isn’t anywhere near London.

Quite a few nail techs near me do acrylic. Their work looks really good. I’m just a bit worried…is there much of a difference? Do they break easier or damage your nails more etc?

I've had both, gel nails are made out of gel and acrylic are plastic tips. I find acrylic is more durable and less easy to snap.
Gel is probably better for your nails but hopefully a nail tech will come along and give you proper information.
I've ditched both and now get builder gel on my own nails, it's made a huge difference xx
