I've decided to give this a go. Can I have your recommendations please? I have fairly dry skin so would prefer a cream over serum. Nothing too pricey please
Thanks

Also I see there are different strengths. What's the best to start with and do you gradually increase strength? Sorry obviously I am a complete novice. All advice welcome!

It’s only available via prescription in the UK - try speaking with a dermatologist who will be able to advise or some of the skincare companies like Skin & Me or Dermatica.

I get mines from this website. A tube lasts me about 3-4 months.

https://nutriplex.co.uk/enb/product/trety-how-to-order-and-buy/

I'd start with 0.025% twice a week then build it up until your skin can tolerate every night. I do the sandwich method so moisturizer, tret then moisturizer. Allow each layer to absorbs before applying the next. You will likely do through a purge phase in the first couple of months and your skin can go a bit flakey. Just skip a few nights and go extra heavy on the moisturiser if it feels stingy at all. I use my daughters child's farm moisturiser or cetraben skin saviour. Nothing too perfumed as your skin will become sensitive.

It's crucial you wear SPF50 every day. The first couple of months are the hardest but ride it out. I've been using it well over a year now and it's made a great difference to my skin. When you finish the 0.025% and you feel your skin is tolerating it well then move onto 0.05% then 0.1%.

Can you pay with debit card?

Yes. Or PayPal.

I use Skin&Me: I like it because the prescription is personalised . So I have 0.025% tret and 0.4% azelaic acid as I wanted to work on both fine lines and spots. However if you just want to do anti ageing they will just give tret on its own.. It’s worked amazingly well for me and my skin is currently better than it’s been in decades . it’s usually £25 a month - so not cheap - but if you want to try a month for £3.50 I can share my referral code with you (also means I get £10 off next month) so please DM me if you do.

Thanks everyone. Really helpful 😊

Yep agree with the Skin & Me (or alternative provider) as a good starting point. I've had a prescription for 4 months now and just working up to 0.015% tret. Am starting to see the difference slowly but surely (improving my humongous pores and acne scaring)

The gradual increase in strength has meant I've had very few issues such as flaking or peeling - just a few chin spots at the start.

Once I'm tolerating a higher strength, I'll look into buying it more cheaply (hopefully!)

Unsure if I can direct message as I'm on Android and don't get half the features even since the update 😒
