I’m interested in buying a pair of clogs from Lotta from Sweden and wonder if anyone can vouch for / against them? Thanks!

Me! Bought some from a little boutique in Cambridge, many years ago.

SO comfortable and quality is great. I really recommend them.

This is a daft question but do they sound ‘cloggy’ when you walk or are the soles lined ?

The bottoms of the wooden cloggy soles have a grippy rubber layer on both herl and front part which gives an element of shock-absorprion and soundproofing.

I found them so uncomfortable and made me walk funny because there is obviously no give in them. Look on Vinted/ebay first as I’m sure many people don’t get on with them.

CourtenayDevon · 22/04/2025 06:45

They take a little getting used to as there is no ‘give’ in them.
On some of mine, the sticky label on the heel moves around, I took the labels off once, big mistake, it didn’t seem to leave any sticky residue but there was and it nearly ripped a layer of skin off my feet.
Other than that though, they are quite comfortable when you get used to them.

IngenTing · 22/04/2025 06:56

I couldn't get on with them at all, but interestingly have zero problems with Swedish Hasbeens.
There used to be an outlet for Swedish Hasbeens in Gamle Stan and I bought loads of different types when I lived there. They are all still going strong 8 years later. I tried the Lotta brand and they just hurt. But that might just be me!

YearsofYears · 22/04/2025 07:01

I can vouch for. I have the higher heeled sandal version.
Find them particularly nice in really hot weather. I d like to get the lower version also.

JAS1983 · 22/04/2025 10:19

Thanks everyone - sounds like a love or hate type of sandal! I’ve not heard of Swedish Hasbeens so will look them up also.

I don’t have Lotta but I do have Hasbeens which I love and find very comfortable.

Summertimeblahness · 22/04/2025 10:41

Assuming that you mean Lotta from Stockholm I have a pair of highwoods in nubuck which are really comfortable. A little clompy at first!

JAS1983 · 22/04/2025 17:21

Sorry - yes I do mean Lotta from Stockholm! Thanks everyone, think I'll go for it- if I buy them now then perhaps I’ll have a chance to break in before summer hols.

How are they sized? I am a 5.5 UK so should I size up to a size 6? Thanks.

I wear them all the time and always get compliments. I size up (I’m 6.5 and order a 7). I can walk easily in them.

Harbourofdiscovery · 22/04/2025 18:26

I have Lotta closed traditional clogs and a pair of Hasbeens T bar style I bought in Stockholm, I find the Hasbeens more comfy and better made and find the leather a better quality.

The Lotta Clogs came away at the front and given you kind of 'rock' to walk in them, the sole is stuck with superglue at the front!

Ones I have

Harbourofdiscovery · 22/04/2025 18:29

Should add I am a size 37.5 and both pairs I got a 38

BridgetRandomfuck · 22/04/2025 18:34

I love a pair of clogs, just wanted to say you can get varieties that have a flex in the sole - a little rubber panel that means they bend more easily, in case you find them hard to walk in. Moheda do some great ones: https://moheda.co.uk/en/all-products/lady/betty-flex-galet/

I found Lottas and Swedish Hasbeens hard to walk in, but not these babies!

Summertimeblahness · 22/04/2025 18:48

Size up imo.

shrumps · 22/04/2025 18:56

I’ve had a pair for years and I love them - very comfy. They do sound ‘cloggy’ but I like that about them 😄

TheCountofMountingCrispBags · 23/04/2025 08:50

These are taking me right back to the 70s!!

Those look great, what's the sizing like?

BridgetRandomfuck · 23/04/2025 12:41

I found them true to size, also with the open toe there’s a bit more leeway anyway.

SingingSands · 23/04/2025 13:28

I've got a pair of Lotta's, had them nearly 10 years! They make me sound like a pony - clip clop, clip clop!
