New designer handbag - advice

I am looking at purchasing a new handbag, looking at quite high end. I got a new black, cross body Louis Vuitton a few months ago which I use all the time, so looking for an alternative to that. I am thinking a lighter colour so I can use it with outfits black doesn’t work with, so camel, beige, even cream?

I have two youngish kids and I usually carry a big purse and some colouring/snacks in it, so it can’t be too small And I would prefer something not too structured so I don’t have to fight to close it!

I think cross body, but would also consider something comfortable over my shoulder.

Any ideas? 🙏

A lighter cross body bag will likely show colour transfer on the back, something to be aware of.
If you are carrying snacks etc a shoulder bag or tote is probably more practical.

Any ideas on which ones? I saw a celine, tan, over the shoulder bag that I liked but I was worried it was a little small…

It depends on your style really. I use a dragon diffusion tote and I have a loewe raffia crossbody.

In the summer I don't like anything too heavy looking and I'm a more casual dresser in general.

I have 2 of the LV Neonoe that I use in the winter months and I am currently looking at a lighter one for the summer. I like that it can be shoulder, handheld or lengthen the strap and its cross body.

What's your budget?
I've been lusting over the Bottega parachute and it sounds like it would fit all your bits and bobs in fine. And it's a lovely summer-y feel with the woven design.

On a much much lower end of the scale, I recently bought this and am in love with it. But it isn't obvious designer-y either if that's what you wanted.

I've had my Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag for years and it always gets compliments. Super easy to store and clean.

That's what I have @wineandwhin

depends on your budget

I’m lusting after the Loewe puzzle fold at the moment. Probably not in style but I like them.

The LV travel totes are big and they have a lovely bright colour that is summery.

@gollyimhollyThat bottega bag is perfect but maybe a little too pricey? My budget is probably no higher than £2000…

Am I stupid to worry that so many fake Loewe bags (the more summary ones) are out there, that I am nervous to get one in case it looks fake/cheap?

And looking at the Raffia ones, I love them but would be restricted only to summer wearing. If I get a leather it can still be year round even though it’s a lighter colour…

I think there are so many copies of loads of bags that you can't really avoid that.

The LV Diane in cream is perfect. It has 2 straps so can be used as an evening bag or cross body during the day.

queenofarles · 21/04/2025 11:14

Hermes Evelyne PM is perfect.

I absolutely love my Loewe Puzzle. Works well cross body, holds lots, quite squashie.

wintersgold · 21/04/2025 11:49

A Loewe puzzle bag?
