Cocktail dress for work event

Help needed! I have a work event coming up that I need a cocktail dress for. I'm 44, size 12 and big chested. Only 5' 3" and carry some weight on my stomach.

Structured dresses suit me best. V neck or scoop neck but not too revealing. I can't wear anything flowy and wrap dresses just don't work on me for some reason.

I've been looking online for ages and tried on some dresses in person from Hobbs and LKB but can't find the right one. Recommendations gratefully received! Budget around £250.

Have you considered renting a dress? There are lots in a similar style to your link at Hirestreet and Hurr. What kinds of colours do you prefer?

I suit strong colours usually, or jewel tones.

I only discovered these sites recently, they've got a huge range. Hope they've got the same in Ireland, it makes finding a special occasion dress so much easier, plus if you really love it you can often buy it at a discount.
