I’ll be checking out this store for the first time tomorrow. Have heard lots about it. Tell me your favourite Uniqlo items please? It is the Edinburgh store. Are Uniqlo jeans good? I’ve been searching for a pair of either barrel jeans or mom jeans, just not sure which would suit me best. I’m short 5,4 with thin legs so don’t know if barrel would just ask unnecessary bulk on me.

I asked a similar question recently. Here you go, the answers might be helpful: www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5315992-any-uniqlo-recommendations?utm_campaign=thread&utm_medium=share

Puffertech jacket is fab! Great under a trench coat for extra warmth

I've had jeans from there about 15 yrs ago and they were not good, but I have a more recent collab ones and they're great. I'm your height and the lengths are fine.

Good from Uniqlo - t-shirts, the collab clothes, jumpers (merino especially), heattech, hoodies, bags. I've been shopping there for decades, and it's a decent brand.

They do a fit of jeans etc for women with an hourglass hip:waist ratio. Thats a game changer if you have an “in and out” shape. All their basics are good. Vests & tops with integral busy support. Also cashmere.

ArtificialFlower · 19/04/2025 07:45

Second the merino and cotton jumpers, I have several of both. I don’t get on with their jeans or trousers but that’s because I’m sadly not an hourglass - more an apple, so the waists are always too tight. I often like their knitted dresses/separates in the winter as well as their lighter down garments which are a great extra layer or spring jacket. There’s also a very serviceable sleeveless stretchy summer dress that I wear in black a lot; I’ve got three of the famous small crescent shaped handbags in different colours and textures; oh and I live in their airism high rise briefs, which are like a second skin, incredibly comfortable, breathable and no VPL.

Some of their trousers aren't long enough for me, but they are great for T-shirts and jumpers.

I am going to visit their new store in Liverpool when I take DD back to university at the end of the month. I wish they would open a store in Leeds or Sheffield.

ThePoetsWife · 19/04/2025 07:56

Their basics are decent although I prefer their winter clothing - I get most of my cashmere (crew and roll neck) there.

They do longer length online!

ChristmasLightsLover · 19/04/2025 08:17

Beas and pants are good, thermals for winter, and well made tshirts and jumpers. We don’t love their linen. Frustrates me! You’ll need to try them on as they’re not usual sizing.

NuzzleandScratch · 19/04/2025 08:19

Their airism t shirts are great. I also got their linen blend trousers the other day, great for summer, lots of colour options and only £19.90! As a shop, I honestly think it’s the best quality and value combination you can get. It’s for basics though. I also like the fancy self check out tills, you just put all your clothes in and it knows what you’ve got without scanning anything!

The cargo pants I tried on last year in their Manchester store only came in one length. I checked online as well.

Also, trousers ars something I never buy online. I really need to try before I buy.

Nothungrycat · 19/04/2025 08:53

T-shirts - both long and shortsleeved - are great, and also fleeces. I like their looser linen shirts, and have had some which have lasted for years. I've found dresses a bit more mixed, but I am at the larger end of their sizing. I've recently started buying some of their gym/sportswear which is excellent.

RampantIvy · 19/04/2025 09:53

Prior to the new store opening in Liverpool DD signed up for a free goody bag. She got some leggings in the bag, but she says they aren't very good and don't stay up very well.

Britpopbaby · 19/04/2025 18:34

I like and plan to buy their JW Anderson shirts that are slightly cropped. They feel amazing quality wise.

ArtificialFlower · 20/04/2025 07:54

I second preferring their winter to summer offering, btw. I forgot to mention their heattech thermal tops (I have mostly the middle weight ones and wear them every day in winter in my cold old draughty home and workplace). Their heattech jeggings are also excellent, though of course skinnies are less fashionable than they used to be so I didn’t wear them much this winter - previous years I’ve lived in them.
