Why do I look orange?

First of all I am not a big make-up wearer (have hay fever) and I do not know a lot about it. I wore for my wedding about 20 years ago and replaced that lot a couple of years ago as I felt I needed some for a friend's 50th.

To buy that I went to ask in a shop - I came away with lipstick, eye shadow, an eyebrow gel and some face powder. It looks ok in real life, DH would definitely say something if it didn't as he's not a fan of obvious make up.

Started a new job after 15 years sahm and have to do calls over Teams. I look orange. I don't know why as I don't look orange in real life. Is it the make up? Would I look worse without it?

It could well be the lighting in your room if it's softer / not particularly bright

Thank you, I'll have a play with the lighting in the office next time, it was on low.

My dell laptop camera makes me look like Donald Trump, especially under artificial light. Is it just on the laptop you look like that? I look fine on my phone camera and work laptop.

It could be oxidation?

Following with interest. 🍊

Get a small ring light that clips onto your laptop/PC, makes me look loads better, even without make up. I’m on zoom A LOT presenting to varied audiences so looking the best I can is important (to me).

It's more likely to be the laptop camera than your make-up. Especially if you're not walking past a mirror and giving yourself a fright!

Other people will see you differently anyway depending on their screen settings, the brightness, the angle of their screen so I wouldn't worry too much.

@SociableAtWork do you have a link for what you have/mean?

I've not tried the phone at the office, look fine at home but then I never wear make up at home!

how old is the makeup? a lot of products do change after their expiration dates.
