You know those "how old do I look" threads? You can now ask ChatGPT!

ChatGPT now has a feature where you can upload images and it can also generate images. Now, even if you would never in a million years upload a photo on mumsnet for a bunch of strangers to comment on, you can ask ChatGPT questions about your appearance instead.

I took a very average selfie with no makeup and no filters and with wrinkles clearly showing. I uploaded it to ChatGPT and asked it how old it honestly thought I looked. It said late 40s to early 50s. I'm early 50s so I'm happy with that.

I also asked it to give me a makeover. It put makeup on me, darkened and changed the style of my hair, neatened up my eyebrows and gave me a bit of lip filler. I'm now considering making these changes in real life! Here I am with my makeover.

There's a definite similarity to all the glow-up photos. Not just the eyebrows which I mentioned before, but the eye shape, cheekbones and jawlines.

I'm tempted to try mine but don't really want to upload an image to ChatGPT.
I'm probably being silly; I'm nobody important and there's no reason why anyone should be interested in my photo, but I've stayed very much below the radar on SM and the internet and prefer it that way.

To be honest, if your photos are on Facebook, LinkedIn etc they are already out there to exploit. I wouldn't worry much

I put 25 different photos on ChatGPT when I had a spare hour earlier, (of me and some people I know - friends and family etc,) and on every single one, the ChatGPT got their age within 3-5 years. (4 or 5 of them said they were 5-7 years older!) Not ONE came up as looking more than 3 years younger. Yet on here, posters are claiming that it said they were 15 years younger. 😂

I am clearly the outlier here - it not only got it right (mid to late forties) BUT then added that I might be early fifties! If everyone else is getting 15 years shaved off maybe it actually thinks I'm in my sixties! Admittedly it was a no makeup, unbrushed hair pic but still!

I’ve asked and it says it can’t tell from a photo and would I like to share some information such as my interests and then it might guess. How are you wording the question?

edited, I told it to have a guess and it’s guessed a decade younger!

I asked ChatGPT to tell me something about me, and it said didn't know anything. Said it would need to have a conversation with me first. So I'm not sure why the previous poster @H0LLOW was scared at what it knew/or what it said! It came up with nothing on me.

Well I got told I’m early to mid 30’s which I’m happy with. However I asked it to give me a makeover and other than the face shape and hair style, it’s a completely different person. Even the eye colour! I’m a beauty though 😉

Gutted- when I first posted its lowest estimate was mid 20s and today I got early 40s! 🤣🤣😭😭 I’ve aged 20 years overnight!

Why do you care what we're doing with our photos?
