Smart Black Trousers

I am desperately looking for some smart tailored black trousers for work. Everything I look at seems to be either high waisted, elastic waistband (comfy for other occasions but not always smart enough for work IMO), stretchy or super long or baggy. My usual default for work wear is M&S or Next but their current versions are high waisted and come up to my armpits and make me look like a clown. I am average height and prefer to wear flat shoes or a low heel for work. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. TIA

Thank you, some good suggestions here to try. I had completely forgotten about Abercrombie and Massimo Dutti but some good ones on there that look like are not up to my armpits.
