Disappointed with Halfeti

After reading about Halfeti a lot on here I bought the PP dupe to try and loved it.
After getting a lot of compliments, even from strangers,I decided to treat myself to the real thing.
What a disappointment! I can hardly smell it on me, and it only lasts 5 minutes.
Does anyone else think the same?

I bought a sample after also assuming I'd love it. Definitely not for me.

The synthethic wood was overwhelming, it was an absolute scrubber!

AshesofTime · 12/04/2025 14:06

I can recommend Eden Perfume’s version as a really good, long-lasting dupe that’s better than PP imo. I love Halfeti but I think the Eden one is even better. Strong and long-lasting too!

I don’t understand why the real one is so faint and disappears so fast. Total waste of money 😡

A lot of Penhaligon’s don’t last long. It’s a real shame. I live a few of theirs. Empressa lasts about 15 minutes and then I can’t smell it and neither can anyone else.

I am also not a Halfeti fan. I have a fairly big perfume collection. I collect and try a lot of perfumes. The only full size on Penhaligon’s I have is Clara, I picked it up cheap and that one does last.

Halfeti seems very popular. Lots of people like it, but perfume is very subjective. There’s lots of popular ones I don’t like and lots that I do like that a lot of people don’t. I am always a little bit sad when I try a perfume I have been excited for and I don’t like it 😂

Confess I've never heard of it. I assumed it was some form of Greek cuisine.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 12/04/2025 14:40

Thanks @Scentbird at least it seems to be normal then, and not me. I won’t bother with any of theirs again. I’ll cut it with the PP one to use it up!

Headache in a bottle.

I had the opposite experience with Halfeti. I love the scent and it lasts on my skin for about 6 hours.

Same with the Jo Malone scents, PP last all day, they're fab!

Yes agree that JM are pointless too @TeaRoseTallulah , but in fairness they are EDT and not EDP.

I've found Saltworks scents to be a lot longer lasting than Penhaligons - their Oud Bazaar is very similar to Halfeti but personally I prefer Tabac Soleil which is a little lighter and spicier. The thing I really like about them is you can get a 'discovery' pack for £29 which has 10 little tester bottles in it, each one with enough to give the perfume a really good try. You get a £25 voucher with it so when you decide which one you want a full size of you basically get your money back AND you get a free travel size when you buy the full size bottle.

My best friend and I both buy different discovery sets, keep one voucher each, and swap sets so we can try out twice as many perfumes 😁

I bought a sample set from Penhaligons all more woody or spice based ( constantinople was one) I think there were 6 samples.

I tried them all ,one at a time so no clashing and I didn't like any of them 😟

FrenchandSaunders · 12/04/2025 16:52

I bought empressa and I’m disappointed.

paristotokyo · 12/04/2025 16:58

I’m surprised at this at is one of my most longest lasting ones. Sometimes I can still smell it on me the next day! I’ve got off it a bit recently as it’s definitely a winter scent for me

I like salt works I have had a discovery set and bought brown sugar one and my dd has the tabac soleil. I find they last a long time. Far longer than Penhaligon’s, imo.
