Which foundation?

Hi, photos attached. Not being vain lol, just wanting to ask which foundation looks best on me as I have a sample of the new Clinique vitamin foundation at £39 and I don't know what to spend all that if the cheaper ones are better but I can't make my mind up. I already have some No7 make up. Which do you think looks best as follows:

Photo of me wearing the yellow top: N07 essential natural foundation in cool ivory

White top: Clinque vitamin foundation (shades are just numbered now)

Lilac top: No7 hydralumonous foundation in cool ivory

None of them, they all look cakey.

Try a tinted moisturiser instead.

Sminty2 · 11/04/2025 22:07

You look really smiley and happy!

i think the yellow top one looks best on you.

AyeDeadOn · 11/04/2025 22:12

Yellow top picture looks best.

Screamingabdabz · 11/04/2025 22:13

Yellow top looks great. Use some nice moisturiser as a base.

You might want to remove the pics, anonymise them by covering the eyes then repost.
I love your smile. And @Sminty2 is right. The yellow top brightens you and looks lovely on you

The No7 essentially natural foundation is very light and has the consistency of a tinted moisturiser.

Thanks everyone. The essentially natural foundation (yellow top) is the one I was initially matched to when the N07 matching machine first came out. The hydralumious is the same shade but seems darker in colour than the essentially natural. I steer more towards Clinque because its good quality but no good if it doesn't look as good.

Yellow top. But also could be the lighting as the light is ina different place in all the photos.

Yatzydog · 12/04/2025 05:41

Third one for me. What is it?

Cotswoldmama · 12/04/2025 07:35

I think the yellow top looks the best.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 12/04/2025 07:45

Yellow top one looks really nice. Not sure if it's just the lighting but the Clinique looks a bit pale and flat

Yellow top definitely or purple top. Definitely not white top and non of them look ‘cakes’

Summertimeblahness · 12/04/2025 12:34

It’s impossible to tell as the colour of the tops and the lighting is different in each so your skin tone is affected.

I agree, it's not a true comparison so it's hard to tell. I think the white top looks better but you need some blusher and a brighter lipstick.

I know you didn't ask so take it or leave it but a pink toned lippy would look fab on you!

Thank you for the advice. The lipstick on the photo is a sort of browny pink colour, its a Clinique Pop one.

OP I promise I'm not being rude but I don't think any of them do anything for you. You look lovely and have a lovely smile. I personally think if you are going to spend money and you have to wear foundation, the Armani Luminous foundation cannot be beaten. Otherwise try a primer like the Maybelline 4 in 1 glow primer and then just concealer applied on the bits you want to minimise and blusher. Weirdly as you get older, foundations ages the look of your skin rather than improving it. At least don't use it on your cheeks.
